- Travels
With The II Corps Mobile Strike Force 1968-1969
- I was privileged
to spend the bulk of my tour of Vietnam in the company of Special
Forces Mike Force units composed of Montagnard commando troops
and organized into Ranger-type strike forces.

- This is your
basic stream crossing operation... Pleiku MSF 211, Oct '68. That's
Cpt. Green In The Foreground. He Was KIA About Two Months After
This Photo.
|
- Another Stream
Crossing On Area Reconaissance NE Of Banh Me Thuot With Pleiku
MSF 212 Sept 69.
- **NOTE**
Stream Crossings Were One Of The Few Opportunities To Grab A
Camera & A Photo. I Normally Carried A Map In One Hand, A
Compass In The Other And An M-16 At The Ready In The Other. None
Left For A
Camera.
- Stream Crossings
Afforded A Short Break While The Far Side Was Recon'd Before
We Crossed Allowing Time To Grab A Camera.
|
- That's Me
In The Foreground On A Quick Recon Patrol Looking For NVA Hideouts
with Pleiku MSF 213, Nov '68, somewhere west of Bao Loc.
- **NOTE**
Taking Photos In The Bush Was Quite Difficult In That Our Operations
Lasted 30 Days and We Had To Live Out Of Our Rucksacks The Entire
Time.
- The Jungle
Weather & Stream Crossings Made It Difficult To Keep A Camera
Dry & Operational. Especially During Monsoon Season.
|
- Area reconaissance
patrol, Ban Me Thuot MSF, Mar '69, Somewhere west of Dalat.
|
- Me and 'Bac-Si'
Skip after checking a suspected enemy weapons cache we found
this former enemy soldier. Posing here with the skull of said
former enemy soldier who apparently ceased consuming oxygen due
to a 'sucking head wound'... Pleiku MSF 212, Nov '68
|
- Still Trying To
Find This Photo...
- Typical overnight
accommodations in the bush. Can't see it very well? That's how
it was supposed to be...
|
- One each
tired young Mountain Goat. What the photo doesn't show is the
85 Lb. rucksack, 100+ degree weather. Plus we'd already climbed
every high mountain in sight

.. Got to do a 'family

Click Here to see why we called ourselves 'the most dangerous
